History

Auguste Théodore Schmitz
Rotarex can look back at a history and experience of more than 80 years. The Rotarex Group was established in 1989 and evolved from the Ceodeux company which specializes in the manufacturing of cylinder valves, regulators, and systems for all types of gases, as well as welding equipment. In 1922 Auguste Théodore Schmitz established the Ceodeux factory in Lintgen. This factory produces CO2 gas for breweries and cafés in the Drand Duchy of Luxembourg. In 1926 a production of valves for liquefied and dissolved gasses was added. During the 30s a range of valves for fire extinguishers was developed and marketed in Europe.
In 1947 Edgard Schmitz, and engineering graduate and son of the founder took charge of "CEODEUX SA". In 1950 the range of products for LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) valves was developed. During the 1950s and 60s the Lintgen factory continued to grow constantly.

M. Edgard Schmitz
In 1976 Jean-Claude Schmitz, son of M Edgard Schmitz and a graduate in economics took over the company. Subsequently a "Research and Development" department was created and several research engineers hired. Concurrently the sales network was broadened and marketing was developed. In 1979 sales were carried out in the United States for th first time. Sales in other new countries were soon to follow, from Japan to Australia, from Aouth Africa to countries of the Maghreb, as well as in China. These new markets were the result of substantial investments in the area of production as well as the building of new factories. Valves, pressure regulators, and connectors for gases intended for the semiconductor, LPG, and fire extinguisher industries and gases of the air have experienced constant development.
